NEOCORK ANNOUNCES 50 MILLION SOLD

NAPA VALLEY, CA --

NEOCORK TECHNOLOGIES LLC, manufacturer of synthetic wine bottle closures, announces sales of 50 million "corks" since sales began in March of 1999. "Neocorks" are now available worldwide through distributors in Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Austria. All domestic and other sales are handled directly through Neocork. For more information see their website: www.neocork.com.

The company was founded in 1996 by a team of winemakers with financial and technical support from five of California's leading wine producers. Their common goal was to develop a consistent and reliable alternative to wood-bark corks and overcome problems and inconsistencies encountered with other alternative closures -- without sacrificing the traditional look and performance associated with the fine wine experience.

The result is a cork "look-alike" manufactured from neutral, FDA approved, 100% food-grade polymers. Now patented, Neocork's unique co-extrusion process creates an inner core of highly resilient foamed resin that maintains pressure against the neck of the bottle over a long period of time. The outer surface is a more elastic material that forms a smooth seal with the bottle wall, allowing easy extraction and reinsertion of the cork. 100% recyclable.
