Co-extrusion begins with a batch of highly resilient foamed inert resin which is extruded then seamlessly bonded to Neocork's patented outer skin. This is then cooled and cut to length in one continuous process. Diameter and roundness are continuously monitored by non-contact laser gauging, as are skin thickness and integrity. Neocork density is continuously checked by ultrasound measurements.
